ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s 2007 baseball recruiting class has been ranked No. 23 in the nation, as announced by Collegiate Baseball this week. The Yellow Jackets welcome 11 newcomers, all freshmen, to a team that returns 19 letterwinners from last year’s squad.
Georgia Tech is one of six Atlantic Coast Conference schools with a top-25 recruiting class, and one of just five in the top-25 without a junior college transfer. Florida State, with 20 recruits, 15 of which are freshmen, had the highest-ranked recruiting class within the ACC, checking in at No. 2.
LSU earned the top ranking by Collegiate Baseball, welcoming 19 recruits, including 12 freshmen and seven junior college transfers, to its 2008 team. Rounding out the top-10 were Oregon State, Notre Dame, UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, North Carolina, Arizona State, San Diego and Texas.
Joining Georgia Tech, Florida State and North Carolina with top-25 recruiting classes in the ACC were Virginia, Miami and Clemson.
