Rhett Anchors U.S. 4x100 to Victory at NACAC Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Georgia Tech All-ACC sprinter Amandi Rhett won her second gold medal of the 2002 POWERade NACAC Under-25 Track & Field Championships, as she anchored the United States’ team to a win in the 4×100 relay Saturday at Trinity University.

Rhett teamed with Brianna Glenn, Danielle Carruthers and Nakeya Crutchfield to post a time of 44.10, which outdistanced second-place Jamaica by 0.76 seconds.

Rhett also took first in the 100 meters on Friday with a time of 11.62.

The NACAC meet is designed for athletes ages 20-24 from countries in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. More than 25 nations sent athletes to San Antonio for the championships, which run through Sunday.
