THE FLATS – Georgia Tech forward Jason Morris underwent successful surgery Monday afternoon to repair a stress fracture in his left foot, head coach Brian Gregory announced.
The 6-5 senior from Augusta, Ga., will need a minimum of 3-6 weeks recovery time before he can resume basketball activities.
“This is unfortunate for Jason and for us because he has had a great summer and fall,” said Gregory. “I have confidence that he’ll do everything he can in recovery to come back and have a great senior year.”
Morris missed 10 games last year due to plantar fasciitis, averaging 3.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, and was limited during portions of his sophomore year with a mid-foot strain, both injuries to his left foot. He has averaged 6.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 80 games for his career.
