Jackets Rise to No. 14/12 in Polls Ahead of Regular-Season Stretch Run

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech rose two spots in each of college football’s major polls on Sunday, coming in at No. 14 in the Associated Press poll and No. 12 in the US LBM coaches poll.

The Yellow Jackets (8-1, 5-1 ACC) are nationally ranked for the ninth-consecutive week and in the top 15 of at least one poll for the sixth-straight week. Tech is the highest-ranked of five Atlantic Coast Conference teams in each of this week’s top-25 polls.

At 8-1, Georgia Tech is off to one of the 15 best starts in Tech’s 133 seasons of football, and its best since 2009. At 5-1 in ACC play, the Jackets are tied atop the league’s standings as one of five teams with one loss in conference play.

Two of the Yellow Jackets’ final three regular-season games come against ranked opponents. The Jackets begin the stretch run of the regular season on Saturday at Boston College (3:30 p.m. – ACC Network), followed by home games versus No. 23 Pitt (Saturday, Nov. 22 at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field) and No. 5 Georgia (Friday, Nov. 28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium).
