Georgia Tech's Bryce Molder Advances To Quarterfinals Of U.S. Amateur Championship

ATLANTA — Georgia Tech men’s golfer Bryce Molder (Conway, Ark.) advanced to the quarterfinals of the United State Amateur Championship following a pair of matches on Thursday. The Amateur Championship is being contested at Baltusrol’s Upper (6,975-yard, par-71) and Lower (7,191-yard, par-70) courses in Springfield, N.J.

In the first match of the day, Molder defeated Bryant Odom of Athens, Ga. and the University of Georgia by a score of 3 and 2. In the afternoon match, Molder dismissed another Georgia Bulldog, needing all 18 holes to defeat David Miller of Daphne, Ala.

Molder will face 1999 NCAA Champion Luke Donald in his quarterfinal match tomorrow afternoon. The matchup between two of the top collegiate golfers in the nation will begin at 2:00 p.m.
