Eight Jackets Named Academic All-ACC

Feb. 5, 2004

Georgia Tech led all schools with eight players named to the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic football team, announced by the conference office.

Three Yellow Jackets who made first-team all-ACC on the field–free safety James Butler, tailback P.J. Daniels and defensive end Eric Henderson–also earned all-conference recognition in the classroom.

Also named to the 46-member ACC All-Academic team were wide receiver Nate Curry, tight end John Paul Foschi, punter Hal Higgins, safety Chris Reis and defensive end Gerris Wilkinson. All but seniors Foschi and Higgins return for next season.

To be eligible for the ACC All-Academic team, a player must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average for the fall, 2003 semester or have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
