THE FLATS – After three weeks off of competition the Yellow Jacket men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to E.P. ‘Tom’ Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. for the 12th Annual Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday.  Coming off a fourth place finish at the Furman Classic, both the men’s and women’s teams look to continue building on the young season.

The men’s 8K Gold race begins at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by a smaller group of Yellow Jackets running in the 8K blue race at 10:45 a.m. ET. The women’s 5K Gold competition starts at 10:15 a.m. ET and the 5K Blue race at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The men’s team is paced by juniors Brandon Lasater and Jeremy Greenwald who have each finished first for the Jackets once over the first two meets of the season.  Junior Katie Townsend looks to lead the way for the women’s team after finishing first in both of the prior meets this season.

In the most recent USTFCCCA poll, the Tech men’s squad was ranked fifth in the South Region with the women’s squad ranked No. 12.
