Sept. 12, 2005

ATLANTA – Damarius Bilbo and Jenny Sims were named Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, September 12, 2005.

Bilbo, a senior from Moss Point, Miss., caught eight passes for 131 yards, including a spectacular 48-yard touchdown catch that was the No. 3 Top Play of the Day on ESPN. Entering the game, Bilbo had eight catches for 108 yards in his career as a wide receiver, covering two seasons and one game. He proved that he can still throw. He took a pitch from quarterback Reggie Ball and rolled right before hitting Ball across the field for a 33-yard completion.

Sims, a senior from Woodstock, Ga., recorded a time of 13:29.56 to finish in fourth place overall at the Mercer Atlanta Cross Country meet on Saturday. Her fourth-place finish helped lead the Yellow Jackets to first place in the 17 team event. The women scored a total of 35 points to finish ahead of Kennesaw State University, which had 39.
